Dear SSES Families:

Welcome to September! With the arrival of a new month, I thought I would share some highlights of the month to help you organize your home calendars.

Back-to-School Night(s)

September 11th

PreK - 6:00 PM

K-2 - 7:00 PM 

September 12th
Grades 3-5 - 7:00 PM

Note: We are unable to provide babysitting in the school as we have done in years’ past. 

While this gathering is for the parents and guardians only, we understand if you are unable to secure a babysitter. If this is the case, please make a quiet, engaging plan with your school-aged children who will need to sit in the hallway outside the classroom.

We will begin our presentation at 7:00 PM in the Cafeteria. Please do not go directly to the classrooms because the teachers will be engaged in fine-tuning their presentations that will begin at 7:30 PM. If you will be attending both evening gatherings, there is no need to attend our presentation a second time. Instead, plan on arriving to the classrooms at 7:30 PM.

Please note on your home calendar that School Picture Day will be September 20th. When the day gets a bit closer, we will send home fliers in the backpacks along with sending you a listserv message in which you will be prompted to order your photo package, using a school code that Lifetouch will provide.

The other important date to add to your home calendars is that school will be dismissed early at 1:40 PM on Friday, September 27th for staff professional development. If you plan to use Car Line, the gate will be lifted at 1:05 PM.

The only other comment is to compliment all of you on following our many protocols and forms of etiquette that help us ensure safety and security. Your partnership is always appreciated.
