Annual Turkey Trot
Dear SSES Families:
We are very pleased to announce that our 15th Annual SSES Turkey Trot is planned for Friday, November 15th from 2:15pm-2:45pm. We have enjoyed this wonderful community partnership with the Easton Senior Center and hope that you might support our drive to collect food items that are non-perishable for Thanksgiving Bags that they are planning on giving needy families along with items to refill the Easton Senior Center Food Pantry.
In the event you spend part of your weekend shopping for food, please consider buying an item (or two) from the list below. These are the most desired items as they are the first to go.
Thanksgiving Bags:
Instant mashed potatoes, stuffing, can vegetables, turkey gravy, can fruit, soup, cranberry sauce, dessert, brownie mix, cookie mix, cake mix, and cornbread mix.
Food Pantry:
Fruits in cans/cups, soups (low sodium, if possible), pasta, tomato sauce/pasta sauce, jelly/jam (any flavor), peanut butter, canned tuna fish, canned salmon, instant oatmeal
We do ask that you note the date of expiration on your food donations. Expired food cannot be included and will be discarded.
On Friday afternoon, our students will walk by homeroom class out to the Turkey Trot, carrying their food donation. Their 'ticket' to trot will be the non-perishable food item. As food is placed in boxes, we will direct the Pre-K-Grade 2 students to the lower field to trot with their teachers and the Gr. 3-5 students to the upper field
SSES parent volunteers will collect all donations and deliver them to the Easton Senior Center. Thank you for supporting this SSES event..
Sincerely,
Kimberly Fox Santora Christina Ulreich-Kean
