Stop, Kiss & Go: Morning Car Line Reminders

Posted Date: 9/17/25 (10:37 AM)

Dear SSES Families:

To keep our school arrival both safe and efficient, I want to remind everyone of the procedures for morning drop-off. Our car line alongside the sidewalk is designed to function as a Stop, Kiss & Go system for students who are independent. These students should be able to open the passenger-side door, step out onto the sidewalk, and walk directly to their grade-level entrance. Drivers should remain in their vehicles at all times in this lane.

For safety reasons, we cannot permit door-to-door drop-offs in the car line. When cars stop unexpectedly or when drivers get out of their vehicles, it slows the flow of traffic and creates unsafe driving conditions for those behind them. Our goal is to have up to 15 cars pull up along the curb, pause just long enough for children to exit safely, and then continue on their way. When done correctly, the line moves smoothly and everyone arrives safely and on time.

If your child still needs assistance getting out of the car, I ask that you please use the tree-lined side of the driveway. On that side, drivers may park, exit their vehicles, and help their children before walking them safely across the driveway to the sidewalk.

Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in supporting our Stop, Kiss & Go system.

Have a lovely day.

Sincerely,

Kimberly Fox Santora
